Alex Correja said it was unfair on Djokovic, mentioning Nadal and Federer
Twice Roland Garros finalist and former number two seed and world number two Spaniard Alex Corretja has spoken out about the record of 20-time Grand Slam champion and ATP world ranking leader Novak Djokovic, who has led the world rankings for 363 weeks (with interruptions). According to Corretja, the record would have attracted more attention if it had been set by Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer.
“Novak has an achievement that I don’t think will be broken for a long, long time. He’s number one for 363 weeks! And this record hasn’t been noticed at all.
That’s not fair. If it was Nadal’s or Federer’s record, people would always talk about him as if he’s the best and the unattainable,” the Telegraf quotes Correja as saying.
