Delhi Capitals are defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore

In a high-scoring battle at the Wankhede stadium on Saturday night, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 16 runs in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 event.

The Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bat, removing Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis for eight runs and the other opening batsman Anuj Rawat for a first-ball duck.

Former RCB captain Virat Kohli was out for 12 runs, while Suyash Prabhudessai was dismissed for only 6 runs, but all-rounder Glenn Maxwell fought back against the Delhi spinners, reaching a superb half-century.

Apart from him and Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant, who scored 34, there were no other batsmen in their side who could truly worry the RCB spinners.

Kuldeep Yadav of the Delhi Capitals took the lone wicket of the game when he removed Glenn Maxwell, but the RCB batters had more to come. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed added 97 runs for the sixth wicket to help them to a respectable total.

Dinesh Karthik was undefeated on 66 from 34 balls, with five sixes and as many fours, while Shahbaz Ahmed was unbeaten on 32 from 21 balls, including three fours and one six.
