The elections for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairperson will take place in December 2022, not now. The administration has agreed to postpone the elections until December after a series of talks this week in Dubai.
The stated reason for the postponement is that the incumbent chairman, Greg Barclay, is being urged by the international body’s members to serve out his entire two-year term.
“It hasn’t technically been postponed; Mr. Barclay will remain on the Chair since the ICC Board wants him to finish his entire term by the end of the year,” says the ICC.

Participating in sports, whether as part of a team or as an individual, is beneficial not only to one’s physical health but also to one’s mental health. In a sport, you compete largely against yourself, and every time you try to push yourself above your boundaries, whether you’re in a team or your team is made up entirely of you, so it all comes down to our taste for solitude or solidarity.
Following the BCCI’s crucial involvement 18 months prior, New Zealander Greg Barclay was chosen in December 2020 after a lengthy battle with then-Deputy Chair Imran Khwaja.
