Sri Lanka is beaten 2-0 by India. Rohit Sharma’s first Test series victory as captain was rated by the players.
The Indian team won their second game on home soil this season, thrashing Sri Lanka 2-0 in a two-game test series to get back on track following a disappointing trip of South Africa. After being named the regular skipper for the national team in red-ball cricket, Rohit Sharma was heading the side for the first time. Let’s take a look at the series’ player performances.
Rishabh Pant (9/10): The dynamic kid has cemented his place as one of the top wicket-keepers in the world. Pant was named Player of the Series after scoring 185 runs in the series, with a high of 96 in the opening match.
Virat Kohl (3.5/10) is a cricketer from India. I Former Indian captain Virat Kohli played his 100th test against Sri Lanka and seemed out of sorts throughout the series. Kohli scored 45 runs in the opening game, but otherwise had a dismal series.
Mayank Agarwal (3/10) and Rohit Sharma (3/10) were India’s opening duo in the series against the visitors. With an average of sub twenty, Agarwal only managed to score 59 runs in three innings. The hitter had a poor outing last time out and will try to improve in the following series.
It’s our responsibility to provide him with that knowledge, since being a captain in the middle is a difficult position to be in. It’s not simple; I’ve done it before. That’s all you can expect of him as long as you’re prepared and automatically making those calls and being proactive, and Ro is fantastic at it.
He is unquestionably a natural leader. But Rohit also accumulates a lot of knowledge, which I believe is one of his strengths.
The Team India staple in all three forms, the elder brother to the generation behind him, respects everyone as an equal, is calm when he listens, and compassionate when he talks.
Even if everyone believes he’s making those judgments instinctively, the information is there.
