Umran Malik to T20
Umran Malik, the lesser-known fast bowler who represented Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH) in the group stage of IPL 2021, has been included in the Indian cricket team. The SH team in the IPL selected Malik over T Natarajan, India’s renowned all-rounder.
Malik proved to be an outstanding player in the IPL, repeatedly bowling at over 150 km/h, which caught the attention of current Indian captain Virat Kohli, who said that the pacer with his potential should be cherished. Malik’s fastball in the 2021 league was Malik’s 153 kph ball in a game against the Kohli Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Malik was selected to the Indian team for the first time as a pure bowler. Though the IPL 2021 tournament is over for the SRH team, the right-handed fast bowler will continue playing in UAE, where his team finished last in the IPL standings.
Before continuing in the IPL, Malik showed his contribution in one A-list match and one T20I for the J&K state. T Natarajan was ruled out of the 2016 IPL winners bowling list after being ruled out due to the 2021 pandemic, this news we wrote on fizzslotsnews.
Kohli says this,
Malik’s participation will help our country prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021, when it will be playing against tougher bowling teams. On Oct. 24, India will face Pakistan in the tournament’s opening match.
